About the role

As a Precision Engineer within Precision Solutions, you will make the difference in projects that focus on the development and manufacturing of motion platforms, optical solutions, and medical equipment. You will develop prototypes and series products within multidisciplinary project teams in close collaboration with our high-tech customers. To safeguard manufacturability, you will cooperate with people from our manufacturing facilities.

Key responsibilities

- Develop multiple mechanical concepts and compare them with each other.
- Translate a conceptual design into a fully detailed design.
- Apply design principles for accurate positioning by making a properly constrained design.
- Design stiff and lightweight constructions and mechanisms.
- Take full responsibility from conceptual design to assembly of your product.
- Collaborate closely with our manufacturing departments like machining and system assembly.

Profile

  • MSc Mechanical Engineering

  • Profound experience with CAD Software, preferably Siemens NX

  • Knowledge of system design, structural analysis and design principles

  • Affinity with design for manufacturability (DFM)

  • Analytic mindset, able to quickly assess issues and their root causes

  • Highly motivated, feel responsible and able to work effectively under minimal supervision

Advanced camera systems

The Advanced Camera Systems product line covers our various types of camera systems. We develop advanced technology solutions in which we integrate different types of sensors ranging from standard to customer specific imagers. This is enabled by our key competences in optics, ultra-high vacuum, precision mechanics, high speed data electronics, and low noise precision electronics. We design with focus on in-house series production. To achieve this, high-end cleanroom production processes are developed within our development teams, where knowledge such as contamination control, imager placement, wire bonding, interferometry, microscopy, and functional testing is combined. Research is currently performed towards the realization of a standard product portfolio of advanced cameras that support existing customers and to create a starting point for new markets.

Pushing the boundaries of Motion & Mechatronics

Within Prodrive Technologies, Precision Solutions is the technology program that amongst others focuses on the development and manufacturing of linear & rotating electric machines, motion controllers, motion software and integrating all these products in entire mechatronic systems. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including people with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, production process engineering and many more. You will develop prototypes and series products within project teams in close collaboration with production.
